Welcome New Artists

CrossRoads Welcomes New Artists!

Crossroads Gallery has come a long way in the past year. Earlier this month we got our new outside sings up, and we celebrated our one-year anniversary. We also welcomed a number of new artists into the gallery.

In other words, if you haven't been into CrossRoads in a couple of weeks, you ought to come on in because there is a lot of new stuff there to see!

When I opened CrossRoads Gallery a year ago, with the help of Pat James- and the support of the special local artists who came on board and took a chance with me and made the thing happen, and who are still resident artists there- I was hoping that CrossRoads would find its own place in a town budding with artist talent and boasting of two other galleries at the time. It too has exceeded my expectations.

CrossRoads Gallery distinguishes itself from the other two galleries in town by offering only fine art and by establishing a home base for local artists in which they take an active part. The artists rent wall space in the gallery and the artists are the people in the gallery every day, making sales, offering a cheerful hello and good conversation, and often times painting  or working on their next work of art by the windows.

The CrossRoads gallery artists also host regular receptions on the first Friday of each month in an effort to promote and support themselves and each other. The wildly popular receptions are a great chance for people to come in and see the art and meet the artists, and enjoy some free food and champagne- and get 10%discounts on purchases-in the process.

I feel so good when I walk into CrossRoads Gallery on any given day. It feels comfortable and beautiful, welcoming and unique, all at once. I love the work that is presented there, and I love the artists who are a part of it. When I opened the place a year ago I knew Tehachapi was full of artists, but I am always pleasantly amazed when I see the wide array of talent that is on display in the Gallery.

I hope you'll make a point of checking it out, and I hope you feel the same way I do when you walk into it.

Thanks to all for another wonderful year,  at CrossRoads Gallery.
