Barbara Rossi

One of our newest member artists on display at CrossRoads Gallery.

Barbara moved to Tehachapi in 2006 from Torrance where she worked as the West Los Angeles Job Service Manager in Marina Del Rey. She and her staff provided job assistance to residents from Malibu to Culver City. She was also a board member for the Culver City Chamber, Westside Economic Collaborative and Employer Advisory Council.

While Barbara loved her job she also had a love for art. She has been involved with art all of her life and majored in art in school. She was inspired to pursue the arts from her mother who was a fine artist, well known in her community for her oil landscapes.

Even though Barbara worked long hours in her chosen career, she made time to teach decorative art and watercolor painting to students at the Rancho Simi Recreation and Park District in Simi Valley where she taught large classes for 10 years. After moving to Tehachapi, she continued to teach at the Tehachapi Parks and Recreation Department and then transitioned to teaching private classes. Barbara is also a member of the Bear Valley Springs Cultural Arts Association.

Barbara’s watercolor style is versatile; she paints a variety of subjects including flowers, landscapes, seascapes, birds and animals. She enjoys painting restful scenes to provide the viewer an escape.
