Marti
Howell has lived in the Tehachapi area since 2002. Before that she was
an educator in the public school system in the Bay Area for 31 years as
a teacher, counselor, and administrator.

She has a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology and is a licensed MFT
(Marriage and Family Therapist), but is not practicing at this time.
Instead, in part because some of her teaching experience was in art,
Marti is now spending time honing her artistic skills, in addition to
gardening, riding her horse, and helping her husband Arden take care of
almost six acres of property.
Involved with art since childhood,
Marti painted with watercolor for many years, but currently her focus is
on oils and pastels, along with hand-formed ceramics. Much of her
artwork reflects her interest in western themes, horses, and the
outdoors.
Marti has been a part of the CrossRoads artist membership
for over a year now, and has been a regular in guest shows all over
town. She is also an active member of the Bear Valley Springs Art
Association and has donated work for their Spring show.
